True Blood Season 4 Ep 9: Run

Last week’s True Blood ended with Sookie getting shot and it’s Alcide who picks her up and takes her away from the vampire/witch battle. Bill’s blood is what saves her and Alcide is once again stuck on the outside looking in as Sookie’s first worry when she wakes up is the whereabouts of her vampire lover Eric.

Where is Eric? Well, he appears to be the witch’s lapdog. Antonia tells him to do something and he does it – he’s a zombie. When Antonia announces her intention to use Eric to kill people at a rally, Tara is shocked and questions the witch leader’s motivations to which Antonia responds in a truly tyrannical fashion – she tells everybody to shut up. No more inspirational leader – now it’s just a simple dictator forcing people to do the things she wants.

In the last episode, Debbie watched Alcide pick Sookie up and run off to save her. Now, Debbie is waiting for him at home, worried about what he is doing and with whom. When he comes home, she turns her back to him as he joins her in bed. Later you see her buying V from a dealer and I wonder what is going on in this girl’s head. Has her insecurity forced her back to her addiction? This will break her relationship with Alcide.

Luna’s estranged husband, Marcus, is the Shreveport pack leader. He’s angry because she has hooked up with Sam. He goes to Merlotte’s to confront Sam and issue a challenge for Luna. But it’s not Sam he meets, it’s Tommy and he tells him to have Sam meet him at his shop later that night.

There is another sex filled dream in store for Sookie as she gets a visit from Eric. Then Bill appears and she’s got both her men with her. She vamps around in some red lingerie and both the boys have their eyes bulging out of the sockets. After she tells them that she loves both of them and will either be with both of them or neither one of them, they acquiesce and the threesome begins.

A hungover Hoyt is still hating on Jessica. He throws all her belongings into a box and addresses it to the monster. That’s going to hurt when she sees it.

Lafayette has Arlene’s baby with him, he’s possessed by a ghost whose baby was killed decades ago. Now the ghost is using Lafayette to get a new baby – Mikey. The ghost has returned to her old house which just happens to be Hoyt’s house. And when Hoyt demands to know why he has Arlene’s baby, the ghost (via Lafayette) pulls a gun on him and forces him out of the house.

Hoyt calls Jason and tells him to come out because Lafayette has kidnapped a baby and has threatened to shoot him. When Jason and Andy show up, Lafayette does start shooting at them. He tells them his name is Mavis, not Lafayette. Jesus uses his medium skills to get Mavis to release the baby and give up the gun. She shows them where she and her baby are buried and they release her spirit which releases Lafayette from his possession.

Jessica answers the door and it’s Jason delivering her stuff from Hoyt’s house. He tries to leave but they end up in the bed of his truck having passionate sex with Jessica on top and loving it.

Sookie breaks into the emporium with Debbie Pelt as her cohort. Who would have thought those two would have been partners in crime? As Debbie distracts Antonia, Sookie finds Eric and he’s completely non-responsive to her requests to leave with her. She’s caught by the witches but Tara lets her escape. Antonia is very angry with her minions.

Sookie goes to the festival to try and tell Bill about the witch’s plan for attacking them. Just as she arrives, Eric launches himself at Bill and Antoinia spells the other vampire sherriffs to start killing people. Sookie runs in screaming but it’s to late, the carnage has already begun….
