True Blood Season 4 Ep 4: I’m Alive and on Fire
By
The three amigos – Jesus, Lafayette, and Tara – are trying to convince Marnie to take her spell off the vampire Eric. Marnie knows she did nothing wrong – it’s the spirit from the past who keeps taking possession of her body and doing these things through her. They beg her to try but she gets no results. They frantically search through all her witch tomes to find some answers.
Eric killed Sookie’s fairy godmother and she faded away into dust. Now, he’s racing around the yard at vampire speed, drunkenly laughing and having a good ole time. It clicks for Sookie that he actually is drunk – the blood that he drank from Claudine has made him higher than a kite. And like any good drunk, he thinks of nobody but himself and he takes off – not telling her where he is going or what he is doing – leaving her yelling after him which seems to be becoming a pattern.
Stud service is in full swing as the females of Hot Shot are lining up for their turn with Jason and the chance to keep the werepanther line alive. It’s pretty gross – all those young girls being used to just have babies. Finally he convinces one of them to let him go and he starts to run through the woods with Felton on his trail.
We get to see Alcide’s hot body in all its glory as he transforms into wolf form to help Sookie look for Eric. Wow…there is nothing else to say. Eventually the two of them locate him in a pond and you get to see two smokin’ hot naked guys in one scene. I love this show but, after this scene, I really, really love this show.
The sun does not care that Eric is happy and wants to play in the water because his skin starts to smoke as it will with any vampire out in the daytime. Looks like the fairy blood is wearing off and when she gets him down into his cubby, he doesn’t want her to leave. I’m really starting to bond with this softer, sweeter Eric.
Jason runs from Felton and ends up killing him by pouncing on him with a spear. When Crystal comes by, all ready to start a new dynasty with Jason, he pushes her away as fast as he can. She’s like a crazy stalker, sure he’ll come back to her on the next full moon. He makes it to a road and falls down only to be recognized by Jessica and Hoyt. Her vampire blood saves him.
After Tommy goes to his mother for help and they have a little family reunion, he finds out she has tricked him because his father throws a chain around his neck and says that Tommy is going back into the ring to start earning them money again. His mother is too old to be fighting in the ring.
King Bill is dating Portia Bellefleur and she is taking him to meet their family matriarch for the first time. Everything is going well until Bill starts to look at the family Bible and he realizes that the woman he is having sex with is distantly related to him and he breaks it off. Portia is not too happy, she likes her vampire lover.
Crazy baby Mikey is now writing on the walls and it’s making Arlene even crazier. What is up with this baby? He’s able to walk around and write legibly on the walls? If not him, who is doing it?
Eric and Sookie have another moment when she goes down to visit him below the living room. He’s depressed and he tells her he already misses swimming in the sun. Sounds like he’s hungover from his vampire drunkfest on all that fairy blood. As Eric is about to kiss her, they get interrupted once again – it’s Bill at the door and he’s looking for Eric.
She tries to stall him but he insists on coming in. She lies and tells him that Eric left town. He still wants to come in. She finally challenges him with the fact that she has never lied to him before, he should trust that she is not lying now. You see his face close down as he knows he is the only who has always lied in their relationship – not vice versa – and he leaves without searching Sookie’s home.
Pam is badgering the witches to take off the spell they put on Eric. Marnie is trying but she’s not doing a very good job of it. Then, once again, the spirit takes over and Marnie curses yet another vampire, only this time it’s Pam and her face starts to fall away. Don’t mess with Pam’s face – now there will be some serious vampire revenge for sure.
