Everyone on the net is buzzing about the latest rumor regarding Twilight author Stephanie Meyer. It seems that during a press junket recently she was heard to say that she is not interested in doing any more stories about vampires. As she put it in the International News report: “Right now,” she said, “ I really don’t have much drive towards vampires.” Well that certainly doesn’t bode well for that long hinted at sequel to Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, does it?

So what could cause an author in the middle of a successful string of hits, including both books and movies, to suddenly decide that enough is enough and I am done with this? Some think, including yours truly, that it may have something to do with the leak of parts of the book Midnight Sun recently. The scene that was leaked was being replayed for the new novel from the viewpoint of Edward and the author was not amused when this leak had the scene splashed across quite a few websites. In fact, she was so unhappy with the whole incident that she decided to simply post what she had already written on her website and then announced that you might as well enjoy it because that is all that will be written. Feels like a bit of a muss about nothing to me. I mean, here she was handled some wonderful publicity but instead she pouts and threatens to leave and take her toys home.

Well, all I can say is, girl you are biting the hand that feeds you! Those fans love you now, but that is because you are this year’s flavor of vampire. Robert Pattison can’t be a teenage heart-throb forever, especially since he is currently 25. So if you decide to put this off, we may all just take our marbles and go home. Ask Anne Rice about the fickle finger of fandom. Oh- that’s right. You had a tiff with her too, and now you two aren’t talking.

Well, this is definitely not fun. I just hope whatever bee you have up your bonnet you resolve soon. We have been enjoying the ride and would like our money back if you aren’t going to deliver on what you promised.
