Hot Vampire Romance for the Gods in Bleed for Me
ByThe gods had their day, when every Roman worshipped them. But now Apollo and many of his kin were forgotten and the days and nights were long without that worship to sustain them. Somehow, in a somewhat seedy part of Florida there is a place called New Olympus with a bar called Hades that some might find a tad interesting. For here the gods of the past meet and mingle, and sometimes look for a new lover to take on. It was that kind of night, long and boring, when Apollo first saw her. She was just what he needed that night, long legs, tight leather dress that showed off a great body and long black hair he could get lost in. He moved in for the kill.
If Looks Could Kill
She knew he was gorgeous, far beyond just good looking. She wasn’t looking for that kind tonight, because this newly made vampire needed easy prey tonight. She just needed someone she could control, feed from and forget. But somehow when he pursued her, she soon found herself mounting the back stairs to his apartment above the bar.
The need they both felt was intense and neither of them felt like being coy about it. The sex was what they both wanted, but the after sex was what she needed, and he was big enough to fulfill her needs and more. She was going to drink deep tonight.
Gods and Romance and Vamps – Oh My!
This is not your average vampire romance that is for sure. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the clashing of elementals here, but Eden handles it well. Combine a vampire romance with the old gods of roman mythology and you have some interesting stereotypes to play with, and a bit of humour mixed in to keep things from getting too over the top.
I like Apollo; he is pretty much what you would expect from a Sun God. He is brash and little too cocky. Perhaps in more ways than one, as the vampire romance starts off pretty steamy and never really slows down.
But after they get it on, Terese disappears. She returns to the older vampire that made her, hoping to get released from his bondage, only to find that it isn’t that simple. He refuses to release her and she soon finds she will need help from the one being she had hoped to leave behind.
How does a creature of night and darkness like a vampire ever end up with something as big and bold as a Sun God? It is the most impossible of vampire romances you could imagine and yet here it works.
Short But Sweet
Terese’s desperate need to be free of her maker coupled with Apollo’s fascination for a creature that defies his all encompassing attraction for women makes a great story. I love that we get just enough of a glimpse into the Olympic crew within the story, as I know that this is just the start of a new fun series from Cynthia Eden.
Yes, I will warn you that this is a novella, so the story is kinda short. But then again so is the price. And it is a great introduction to the concept for this series. A fun little read that will take you next to nothing to start, allow you to race through with great delight, and complete in probably one reading. Kinda like a bon bon after a long day – Bleed for Me is a vampire romance treat for the heart.
