Sometimes a vampire can be written as something more than just that dark blood-sucking machine that skulks in the night. Lucky for us, there are authors out there who have decided to try their hand at writing a vampire story with a decided new viewpoint. Here are two that I think you will agree are a wonderful change of pace from Twilight or even True Blood. Vampires with a twist!
Under a Vampire Moon by Lynsay Sands
A white sandy beach on a Caribbean Island, a drink with cute little umbrellas and no relationships – none at all – was all Carolyn had in mind when she booked the vacation. With the end of the marriage that could give anyone nightmares, she was ready to heave a sigh of relief and just sit and soak up some sun. No man – no matter how gorgeous – was going to interfere with her vacation.
But she didn’t count on the matchmaking skills of Marguerite Argeneau or the charms of Christian Notte. Christian knew that his clan expected him to find a life mate – that it was imperative for the survival of his clan. What he didn’t expect was to fall in love – and with a mortal.
This is another in Sands wildly successful Rogue Hunter series, and like the others will charm you thoroughly. Her ability to create charming rogues that will melt your heart and warm your loins is just one of the charms of this series that is the perfect getaway from the everyday world.
Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors by Molly Harper
Jane Jameson may be one of the undead, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still want that perfect wedding. When she and her oh so sexy boyfriend Gabriel decide to tie the knot, you would think that planning a nighttime nuptial would be enough to keep a girl busy. But then she turns a fatally wounded teenager, and the Council decides he is her responsibility. So how to keep the kid from sucking the entire neighborhood dry?
From stocking enough faux type O to fending off the ghost of her grandmother, things are never simple or even quiet around Jane. Choosing a dress or a cake seems to suddenly be the least of her problems, and she is wishing that this wasn’t so right at this moment.
Molly Harper has once again brought her sense of humour to the world of the vampires as she continues the adventures of the reluctant undead one Jane Jameson. Light hearted and ready with a quip, this is one vampire you are going to really wish you did know!!
