Archive for True Blood
This is just about the most perfect of the True Blood books to give to a real fan who loves to cook. Especially since that real True Blood fan probably already has just about every other of the True Blood books you can name!
But really, this is a fun book with lots of great pics, fun little stories from both the characters and the actors and best of all some tasty recipes you can whip up for that next hot vamp party!
Now if you have ever had a hankering for some good old fashion southern cooking, a friend of mine said that these recipes will do the trick! She should know she grew up in the Deep South. Personally, I like the drinks they have in the book. I can just picture Sam mixing me up one of them right now! That is a yummy picture for two reasons!
With over 80 recipes and 150 photos of some of the most drop dead gorgeous pics (and the food looks pretty darn good too!) you will ever see – this baby is a fun book. Mix up some Dead on the Beach cocktails and serve them with Stake and Eggs for your next True Blood party!
You know, Alan Ball says that True Blood is really a show about hunger, and thirst and desire. If that is so, then this is a book whose time has come. After all, in a show like True Blood it is only fitting that we have at least one of the True Blood books focus on food and of course drinks as the “main course” for our reading appetite.
Don’t think that a cookbook can truly reflect a television show/vampire romance series? Well guess again because, as you will see in the interview below with the big man himself Alan Ball, it is more than just a reflection of what goes on below the surface in Bon Temps. It is really, in many ways, the pulse point of the show. And really, if you need just one good coffeetable book to add to your collection of True Blood books (what, you don’t have a shelf dedicated to it?), this is the perfect one. Gift it for Christmas, buy it for your own collection or surprise a Trubie that you know. Then throw a party to try out all the food and drinks you have here. Now that would be a party worth planning!
You can grab your copy of Gianna Sobol’s True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps in both lovely and sturdy hardcover for your kitchen bookshelf or download it to your Kindle and take it everywhere!
Well they say good things come in small packages and I guess that is really true for proud mama and papa Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer who gave birth to twins in September. The little True Blood twins were a bit early, they weren’t expected for another couple of weeks, but the word is out that they are doing fine, as is mom Anna. That, of course, is always the biggest concern. I mean, have you seen how tiny Anna is? How she can even carry twins is beyond belief, but she did and she is grinning from ear to ear every time you see her.
The couple, who of course met while filming True Blood, were married back in August of 2010 but the news that Anna was pregnant this past year was a big surprise to many. Of course, she luckily didn’t show much as they were completing last season’s filming and the start of shooting for Season 6 was put off until January to give Anna some time to regain her strength (and figure!) after the birth. Of course, with True Blood, twins would show you know, what with all the nudity they have!
At first the gender of the babies was pretty hush, hush. But word was out in the last week or so that they were proud parents of a boy and a girl. I have a feeling that they would have been happy with whatever outcome the gender of the twins happened to be. But locals spotting Anna walking around Malibu with the kids strapped in nicely said she looks quite content. The pic above with both Anna and Stephen looks pretty happy, so good for them! I wonder how Stephen’s two kids Lilac and Billy feel about the new brother and sister.
It seems to be True Blood twins all around these days as we get the news about several happy couples. First it was Sam Trammell and Missy Yager, then it was Anna and Stephen and now Marshall Allman and Jamie Ann Allman have announced they are expecting twins as well. Must be something in that true blood!
True Blood’s Mark Hudis has sent out casting calls for a couple of new characters that will be regulars on the show. While no word yet on who they might end up choosing, I know that our readers have always had some great ideas.
Governor of Louisiana
Creighton Burrell is said to be a real vamp hater, but then he has good reason to be one. It seems that his wife ran off with a member of the undead tribe leaving the good governor to raise his daughter all on his lonesome. So this is going to be a great role for a real rug chewer, I would say. I wonder if this means he will square off against the previously announced Governor of Texas or if they simply decided to change what state he governs.
This is a young woman who will be a regular in the cast. She is described as a “do-gooder to the core” The gal will be someone who is not motivated by money and wants only “the common good and doing what’s right.” They are saying she is someone for whom life is still a positive good thing, and I am thinking she may be just what Sookie needs right about now. Let’s just hope that Nicole can stay that way once she spends some time in Bon Temps.
Okay so now we see that there will be a governor that is itching to do some nasty to vamps, and is politically ambitious to boot. Up against this we have a gal who is out to do the right thing in this world, an attitude that is bound to put her at loggerheads with the governor.
So what does this say about Season 6? I think there is some political battles heating up here. What do you think?
Got some ideas for casting? For where the show might be going? Don’t be shy; it’s time to speak up as we debate the politics of True Blood.
