I thought that this was a great idea, a packaged set of five great little paranormal romance stories from a veteran in the vampire trade, H.T. Night. All five of the books are from the series about Night’s main character Josiah Reign. We get to track the development of his character, from the early days before he went through his changes to the latest stories that follow Josiah’s journey towards love and trust.
Josiah is a fighter, it is what he knows best and it is also what in the end causes him both good fortune and trouble. His tendency to jump into a fight, no questions asked, is what brings him into Lena’s path. It is also Lena who will show him his true calling, and be the one who will face the endless future with him. But it isn’t so much what brings Josiah to his calling as the “Chosen” of the Mani People, the vast race of hidden vampires, as how he arrives at his decision to embrace who he is, that makes these stories so stirring.
The five novels presented here, Vampire Love Story, The Werewolf Whisperer, Forever and Always, Vampires vs Werewolves and Werewolf Love Story together make a journey from lost soul to driven hero. It is in the end the journey itself that we get caught up in, and the making of a hero. But don’t be thinking this is all angst and horror, the humor in the stories is part of their charm. That and the kickass fighting that leaves me wondering if author Night is not himself a master of some type of kick boxing or other martial art.
If you love stories that have both love and adventure, that travel across the globe to find the truth and have characters that make you want to read the next book NOW – well aren’t you lucky. One of the fun things about these boxed sets, which Amazon has done a few of now, is that you get to keep right on reading! And at this price, how can you not!
